You can get a thousand woot woots over here!! I'm going to call this a lateral and not a fumble!! ;) tell him it's time to score! Way to go britt!! That's our boy!!
Shipp family - you don't know me, although I did go to high school with Somer, she is a year younger than me. I have been following Britton's story and your blog since his accident happened. I am proud to say I come from a hometown / community that is so caring, loving and supportive and it's so wonderful to see and hear about the support you are receiving. I was in SG for Thanksgiving and saw signs, stickers and bracelets everywhere for Britton and it was wonderful!
I look forward to reading your updates everyday on Britton's progress and I pray that he wakes up soon. I admire your family for your faith and your strength and thank you for sharing your lives, and Britton, with all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you from SLC and we look forward to hearing that Britton has woken up soon! Much love to all of you!
I have just come to hear about Britton. I was a scout leader for Matt your Dad. It was great to hear your testimony and the closeness you feel to your Heavenly Father, especially through this trial. My daughter was diagnosed with a tumor wrapped around her spine at 19. Like you for us it was hard times. The doctor told us that there were three possible courses of action. One they could do nothing, but if it was malignant she would have months to live. Two they could take a biopsy and see what it was but because it was emanating from the main blood vessel on her spine they might not be able to control the bleeding and she could bleed out on the table and not survive the biopsy. And last if they could operate and take it out if she survived she would probably be a quadriplegic with 3 missing ribs, leaving a hole in her chest. As I was thinking about this on the way home, I don't know how my daughter knew, but she turned to be and told me: "Dad it is ok. Heavenly father is in charge of my life and what ever happens to me it is for my best Good. Even if I die, it is what is best for me." I want you to know that I was greatly humbled at my daughters faith. I too turned her life over to God and a scripture came to my mind. "Be still and know that I am God." A peace came over me and no matter what happened I knew God was watching over us. When there is no comfort, there can be no comfort, God can give us comfort. I hear it in your testimony, I feel it again as I watch you go through your trial. I should tell you after three and half years of radiation and chemo and 2 thoracodemy's ( I don't know how to spell it), my daughter is married has 3 kids and although missing part of a lung, running half marathons. We will pray for you and your family, We know how much those prayers mean and strengthen. Daryl Gudmundson
