Good News

As me and my mom drove over to the hospital this morning, we couldn't help but feel so anxious. We knew when we got there we would be hearing the results of the MRI, he had done early this morning. My mom said the most thoughtful prayer. Our hearts were comforted immediately. We walked up to the ICU, hand in hand, to find my dad in the waiting room with friends and family, with the biggest smile on his face. He is so strong. He was talking to one of the first responders on the scene, it was such an honor to meet and talk with him. We owe him and the people who were there with britton that day, every thing. We walked back into britt's room as a family, and surrounded his bed. I picked up his hand, so warm and strong. My sweet, boy. My dad just couldn't stop smiling, and i said OKAY TELL US ALREADY. and he gave us the who spill on what the doctors had to say after they got back the MRI results. So many good things. little things. but good things. and that is all we need. It all went straight over my head, but i will post again after i hear straight from the doctor, and let you know more details.

he has swelling on his brain stem, and his brain is kind of sagging down, if it were to get any lower, it could be very bad, but it is in a managable spot right now, and they are doing everything they can to control it. His thalmus, which is more in the middle, is experiencing some bleeding. And he has a stroke spot, but the doctors said if you were to have a stoke, that is were you would want it to be, it affects motor skills. But britton seems to be moving and responding just fine to all of their tests. The tubes tubes they put in seem to be doing thier jobs, delivering oxygen and blood flow to the brain. The tissue spots that were discolored are no longer that way, they look good! The fracture of his ear canal on his right side, seems to be healing itself. He has been responding very well with all 4 extremities to painful stimuli. more details to come!!

  1. Autumn thanks for keeping everyone updated... I am a friend of your dads and aunts from school... My daughter was is a car wreck just over a year ago... And it was hard to see her and her boyfriend who was in a coma, and to be strong for them and everyone around... I swear I don't think I really slept for the first half of the week... It took my mom and another daughter of mine traveling there to even get me to leave her room, and get some decent rest for a night... It was almost a year after the accident that I finally broke down and let all my emotions out from the incident... My heart pours out love, and prayers for your family... I know it is in the Lords hands, and as hard as it is at times we have to trust in plans... I am on the other corner of the state from you all, but if there is anything i can do just let me know...

  5. Autumn, you are such an incredible girl. I've only met you a couple of times. I was married to your dad's friend, Tavis Stubbs. I think I've even slept in Britton's bed. Haha! I think it's adorable that you'd go climb in bed with him when you were scared. What a sweet relationship you have with him. Thank you so much for keeping this blog updated. There are so many people who are wanting to know the progress your sweet boy is making. This blog is such s selfless thing for you to do.

My cousin was in a horrific car accident that my family is almost certain should've taken her life. But so many people began fasting and praying for her and y'know what? I firmly believe that The Lord saw all of that and - being a God of His word - didn't take her from us. He's not going to make a promise to us that He'll answer our prayers and then go back on that promise. There is no question that Britt's life is in His hands. It is my prayer that He'll use Britt as an example of His healing powers. As proof that He does perform miracles. I know that with Britt's faith, he can spread the good word of the Lord through his living example. That God performs miracles and that he, Britt, is a living example of those miracles.

Your sweet boy and all of your truly remarkable family is in my prayers. I know He'll bless and comfort you all during this time.

    Thanks again for the updates.
