Oh Happy Day

THE PRAYERS ARE BEING HEARD MY FRIENDS. THEY ARE BEING HEARD AND THEY ARE BEING ANSWERED. Seriously. We see it in here everyday. We see the way our Britt is progressing little by little, day by day, and it is because of you and your faithful, nonstop prayers. Miracles. Through faith and prayer we are getting those little miracles we are asking for and hoping to see.

They did a CT scan on him, early this morning and the results were nothing shy of a miracle. The doctors were amazed. And you could even see it in their eyes, and hear it in their voices, that what they were looking at doesn't "just happen". They were so hopeful. Obviously still guarded, and reserved, because of the situation, but hopeful. When you see the doctor smile, you know things are looking up.

I walked in my brothers room after church, and at first I was kind of shocked and scared when I saw his head. The right side of his head was sunken in. But then I remembered...THAT IS A GOOD THING. weird huh? A concave head a good thing? The right side of his head is where they took off his skull, so the past two weeks it has been really large and swollen, because the brain has been pushing out that way...which is why they took the skull of in the first place, so the brain would have somewhere to go. They told us that when the swelling starts to go down, his brain will start to go back down also. And since he doesn't have a skull there, the scalp sinks down with it! It looks freakin weird...BUT I'LL TAKE IT. They started draining more fluid off today, and that has helped A LOT, with the swelling and pressure in the brain. They told us we don't have to worry about the ICP.....HIP HIP HORRAY! Cause that dang number was the scariest thing for all of us. Constantly watching it all day long, to make sure it didn't go up too high. It's like we can breathe again. FREEDOM. speaking of breathing.......

MY BROTHER IS BASICALLY BREATHING ON HIS OWN. I walked in his room today and that was the first thing my dad said to me. You can just imagine the smile on my face. I mean, the vent is still helping him, but barely! He is doing most of the work if not all!!!! He is still hooked up to the vent, because that could change at any minute....but still, so exciting! They are giving him one more shot, to see if his brain can start absorbing the fluid by itself, and if not they might have to consider putting a shunt in his head. Its a surgical procedure where they place a permanent mechanism in his head, that drains the fluid from his brain into his stomach. His eyes are still unresponsive. But he did do some purposeful movement today which is awesome!!

Today has been such an exciting day. For all of us! For my family! For the Doctor. For the Nurses. For Britt. For everyone who is pulling for him. Believing for him.

The power of prayer and fast is a beautiful thing...so powerful. Especially when it's coming from thousands of people;) You guys are awesome, keep em comin!
